10 days of Awe & The Day of Atonement
Revival and the 10 Days of Awe!!
What are the 10 Days of Awe?
The 10 days of Awe are the time frame from Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) to the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). It is a Jewish tradition and not mandated in scripture.
This tradition requires one to search their heart to see if they have sinned against Yah or any person. They are to go to God in prayer and repent (turn away from sin), and go to the people they have sinned against and repent. It’s also a time to make reconciliation when possible! It’s time to forgive those who have offended you!
The purpose is to return to Yah by the Day of Atonement so that one can be written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
If you are a believer in Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ), you are already written in The Lamb's Book of Life. As believers, we are called to live a repentant lifestyle daily; so, why would a believer participate in this tradition?
Psalm 139:23–24 (NASB 95) 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; 24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.
For me, these 10 days are a reminder to search my heart and seek Yah's face for a reset in my walk. To ask God to search my heart to see if there is any wicked way in me, humbling myself and repenting. It’s a time to draw close to God and renew my relationship with HIM!
We can stand on God's conditional promises as believers; these promises did not go away when Yeshua came. If nothing else, they were finalized and made available not only to Israel but also to the gentile believer.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NASB 95)
14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
I believe Yah is healing our land, but we are at a turning point in this nation's Spiritual history. Jesus will be returning soon as King. He is coming for His bride, who is without spot or blemish.
Revival is not just for the sinner who does not know Yeshua, but it is also for the believer who has stumbled. For the believer has lost his first love. For the one who has been distracted by the cares of this world and has become lukewarm
1 Peter 4:16–19 (TLV)
16But if anyone suffers for following Messiah, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this name. 17For the time has come for judgment to begin with the house of God. If judgment begins with us first, what will be the end for those who disobey the Good News of God?
18Now, “if it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what shall become of the ungodly and the sinner?” 9So then, those who suffer according to God’s will—let them trust their souls to a faithful Creator while continuing to do good.
The feast of the Lord helps us stay on course with Yeshua. These are not Jewish appointed times; they are the Lord's appointed times. We as believers ought to embrace them; they are eternal and for our good.
To the House of God believers in Messiah Yeshua, it is time to humble ourselves, seek God, and turn from our wicked ways. Embrace these 10 Days of Awe and rejoice because your name is written in “The Lambs Book of Life”
